Amanda

Dance Instructor & Director

I have been entertaining people across Melbourne since 2009 and have graced stages across Australia, New Zealand, Europe and USA.

Before coming to dance, I was a musician. Originally trained in classical piano, I moved on to many other instruments including clarinet and Arabic drumming.

I am a firm believer that you never stop learning, so I am a part of the world renowned Salimpour School of Belly Dance (California, USA). I am Australia’s only certified Intermediate 2 (S302) dancer and Australia’s only Salimpour School Fundamentals Licensed Instructor. I am working on my next set of certifications with the school and look forward to bringing this knowledge to the Australian community.

As a passionate supporter of others, I am the leader of the Melbourne Shimmy Mob team. Shimmy Mob raises funds for local domestic violence services as well as awareness of the signs of domestic violence.

I am also the local leader of the Melbourne Salimpour Collective. A performing collective of current Salimpour students who are all based in Melbourne.

Adding to the many things that I am a part of, I also run a community practise performing event called First Run Stage each year, plus am part of the team that runs the Winter Dreams and Summer Dreams showcase events plus an active committee member for the Australian Belly Dance Convention.

Keep an eye on this website, or via my Facebook or Instagram accounts to see what is in the works, and where you can see me perform, or contact me to have me perform at your next celebration.
