Tired of gyms and running? Need a bit of inspiration to get off the couch and move? Why not try belly dance?

Belly dance is a great, low impact exercise that is accessible to anyone of any age, size or fitness level. Plus, it’s great for mental health, self-esteem, coordination and physical strength! The movements are gentle and non-jarring for less possibility of injury.

No matter if you’re a beginner, an advanced dancer or just trying to get off the couch, APB Dance belly dance classes will help you get moving with a side dish of spunk and fun!

And, most importantly, belly dance is perhaps the most enjoyable low impact aerobic workout available. Our dancers agree that there are few specializations that have such a friendly and welcoming community.

Plus! APB Dance is the sponsor for the Salimpour School of Belly Dance Workshops in Australia. To find out more about Suhaila Salimpour and the Melbourne workshops, visit this page.

Sound good? Well, all you need to do is sign up for a class in person or online and let us show you how it’s done. Bring a friend for even more fun, or meet a few new ones in class.

About the classes

Weekly classes are good for anyone who wants to get regular practice of belly dance moves. These are offered both online and in-studio.

Monthly workshops are a great introduction to different areas of belly dance with a different focus each month.

Private online classes are good for those who can’t make it to a class but have time and space in the comfort of your own home. Starting in September weekly online classes will be available or you can schedule a private (1:1) or semi-private (2-3:1) online call.

Advanced level dancers are accommodated for within all classes with additional layers and more advanced moves being included for those who can keep up!

Special event weekends are offered once or twice a year with international master teachers and instructors.

What to wear

  • Comfortable clothing with either leggings or yoga pants.
